Why ordinary plane transmitting grating cannot be explained by used to diffraction effect in x rays ?

For diffraction to take place the grating element (width of a slit and obstacle ) must be equal to or less than the wavelength of the wave.
The grating element of plane transmission grating is about 4000000 times greater than the wavelength of x rays.
So we don't get them diffracted.
