Why our nation name is india?

In the past, the Greeks called Indians as "Indoi"which means people of Indus. The name of the country "India" is derived from River Indus .

But why is the country named after a river?
It is due to the location of River Indus. People who lived near river Indus were called Indoi.

So the name of the country is also India due to position of river Indus
