This is because the Moon is smaller and has less mass than earth, so it's gravitational field strength is only about one-sixth of the earth.That's why our weight on moon is six times less than on earth

We already know that weight is because of gravity. As a gravity of earth is more than the gravity of moon, therefore our weight change six times less than earth.
