We already know the atomic number of oxygen , sulphur, calcium

Name electronic configuration

Oxygen(8). 2,6

Sulphur(16). 2,8,6

They both want 2 electron to complete there octat.

Calcium(20). 2,8,8,2

But in this it want to lose 2 electron to complete its octat.

So they both are divalent compound.

Divalent elements include calcium andsulfur. While the bonds formed bycalcium are ionic, sulfur can form covalent bonds as in H2Sor ionic bonds as in Na2s. Divalent anions have a charge of −2, for example S2- and SO4 2-
