Why p.d remain same in parallel connection and current in series connection

in parallel connections resistance are connected parallel to each other make current divide through each resistor.....although the voltage remains same as voltage is directly proportional to resistansa and inversely proportional to current....
in series connection resistance are connected end to end make the current to flow constantly from each resistor although the voltage get differentiated in each resistor as the power of voltage get slow ....
