Why PCL3 is ionic in nature

PCl5 is covalent in gaseous state however, in solid state, ions can be stabilised by Lattice Energy, also in PCl5 two bonds are longer and three bonds are shorter so PCl5 is nit that stable in gaseous state,but in solid state as it can get more stabilised if it exists in ionic form where it will get additional stabilisation due to lattic energy and it prefer to remain ionic in solid state
