Why phosphorus glows in dark????

Phosphorus slowly gets oxidized in Air and a green flame is obtained which seems to glow in dark or dark in colour that's why phosphorus glows in dark.

when white phosphorus comes contact with air slow oxidation takes place. Due to thus chemical reaction phosphorus glows green in dark.
