why plants are called as universal providers ?

Plants are called universal providers because they give food to all the living organisms viz. human beings , insects , animals , etc. They are the main base of the food chain and without them the existence of the living beings is not possible.

They are called as universal providers becoz most of the energy to all organisms is provided by plants. And also 1% of the Sun's energy is consumed by plants. That's why they are called universal providers or comsumers
