Why plants cannot take nitrogen directly

it's to easy .it's like why u can't inhell Co2 ... .....or orixzon is a necessary in plant for ETS ..Nd its nesessary for formation of carbohydrates..02+h2o......_ c6h12o6

Becoz nitrogen is inreactive and cannot be used by green plants to make protein directly.Nitrogen gas thereforw needs to be converted into nitrate compound in the soil by fixing bacteria in soil ,root nodules ..
