why plaster of paris is written CaSo4.1\2H2O ? how it is possible that half molecule of water is added

Plaster of paris is written as CaSo4.1/2H2o because on heating of gypsum when its 75% water is lost it forms POP. Also half molecule of water is not added it is the ratio in which they are attached in actual it is 2CaSo4.H2o
