Why plaster of paris should be stored in moisture proof container? Can anyone explain simply..

This is because when it comes in contact with water it becomes gypsum.

plaster of paris should be stored in a container because as plaster of paris come in the contact with one and half of H2O it gets converted into gypsum which is a hard substance
