Poverty is a big challenge to Indian democracy and all other democracies alike. The main reason is that it is detrimental and has a vast effect on India's economy. This is a factor that categorizes a country as developed or underdeveloped. Poverty is a macabre situation for families also because it can bring about misery. Debts and hopelessness can be a cause of suicide. Poverty annihilates families. However much Indian democracy tries to make things even in the country, the situation is still worse. We must understand that poverty is a continuous calamity because even if things get better and the economy improves, there will always be people who will be labeled as 'poor'because they will be still slightly inferior than others and humans as we know tend to look down upon others. Obsequious men and women of this country should work against poverty to ensure better if not best living conditions for the generations to come.
