This salt decomposes to alcohol and nitrogen gas. Aromatic primary amines gives relatively stable diazonium salts. Secondary amines react with nitrous acid to form yellow oily N-nitroso amines. Aliphatic tertiary amines react with nitrous acid to form water soluble nitrite salts. HOPE IT HELPS
