Why pulmonary vein and artery are called as exceptional?

usually arteries carry oxygenated blood and veins carry deoxygenated blood, but in case of pulmonary artery, it carries deoxygenated blood , and pulmonary veins carry oxygenated blood..

they are called pulmonary artery n vein due to their structure's resemblance with artery and vein respectively and pulmonary is used to describe circulation of deoxygenated blood from heart to lungs (to get oxygenated, via pulmonary artery ) and then oxygenated blood is given back to heart via pulmonary vein.
