There are 3 reasons-
1. The yield of wheat is highest in Punjab though the area is lesser as compared to other wheat growing states specially U.P
2.The climatic conditions specially fog in late December and first half of January is most favourable for cultivation of wheat.
3.The farmers in Punjab are progressive as compared to that of other farmers of the country. They welcome new technologies with a positive note. This reduces the per unit cost and increases per unit production.
