Pure Acetic acid is very weak acid that's why it does not turn blue litmus to red.

Explanation:

Litmus Paper:- It is a type of paper that changes colour in response to the acidity of the solution when it is dipped in it.

  • Acid turns blue litmus to red.
  • Base turns red litmus to blue.

Pure acetic solution turns blue litmus to red :-

  • Pure Acetic acid is very weak acid.
  • It does not dissociate completely.
  • it doesn't have enough [H+] concentration, so it can't turn blue litmus red.
