why qutub minar was built

shriyamlaa: The Qutub Minar is a towering 73 meter high tower built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak in 1193. The tower was built to celebrate Muslim dominance in Delhi after the defeat of Delhi's last Hindu ruler. The construction of the tower was later taken over by his successor Iltutmish who constructed three more stories.

Qutub Minar was astronomical observatory tower build by unknown hindu king(May be Chandra Gupta 2). Later Turk ruler build masque over nearby temple. Turk ruler inscribed arabic letter over hindu design of this 73 meter tower which is 10 time taller than Iron pillar( 7.2 meter). Lotous flower, bell still can be seen in between these arabic letter on the wall of Qutub minar, which is forbidden in Islam. Gate of Qutub minar also face North like other hindu monuments as opposed to east if it is Islamic. The base of Qutub minar is also part of nearby temple complex I.e nearby temple and Qutub minar had build in same period. So It was hindu monument for Astronomical observation.
