cherrapunji is one of the town in east khali hills in the state of meghalaya.
five years ago it was the wettest place on earth.but,rainfall is reduced in cherrapunji due to deforestation and overgrazing.overgrazing leads to land degradation which converts dry area into extremely arid land which looses its plants ans animals and this leads to desertification

Rain is reduced in Cherrapunji because of the following reasons:
