Why rate of cell division varies in different age groups

There are two types of cell division. Mitosis is used for growth and repair and produces diploid cells identical to each other and the parent cell. Meiosis is used for sexual reproduction and produces haploid cells different to each other and the parent cell.

Normal circumstances the rate of cell divisions decreases along with the increasing age.

Because,

1)The necessity of cell division decreases with the increasing age.

2)The biological ability of cell division decreases with the increasing age.

That's why the rate of cell division is different for different age groups.
