Why rate of heart beat is more in animals with less weight and also why rate of heart beat is less in animals with more body weight​

INTRODUCTION:Heart is the muscular organ that pumps blood throughout the circulatory system.The force of contraction of the heart depends upon the muscles.

YES,there is a relation between body weight and heart beat rate.

If the body weight is more,heart beat is less because of the following reasons:

-Huge body surface area

-Blood takes alot of time to reach heart for oxygenation and circulation

-Weight of the heart will be more

EX:Blue Whale -wt of the body is 1,50,000kg;wt of the heart 750kg and number of beats/min is 7.
