Why relative/angular velocity cannot be found by directly subtracting?

Since, Velocity is a VECTOR quantity

It is calculated by applying vector rules of addition/substraction only.

You cannot simply substract it like numbers.

Hi Shreya,

As we know that angular velocity is a vector quantity so vector quantity are highly dependebt on direction.

So if relative velocity is to be found between two bodies moving at different angles then we muwt take components of the velocity sometimes in question .

This is just one example. There are many diff. cases.
