any process that liberates heat is on exothermic process.
in above two processes also heat is liberated as end product.. thus exothermic

Explanation:

The process of conversion of energy present in the body of living organisms to chemical substances of other molecules is known as respiration.

The organic substances are crushed into smaller simpler matter in the process of decomposition.

Exothermic process is a chemical reaction which releases energy in the form of light energy or heat energy.

In both the processes, respiration and decomposition releases an energy when the glucose molecules are broken down into water molecules and carbon dioxide molecules. Hence, they are said to be exothermic processes.
