Why reverse flow arises in turbulent flow in fluent?

Turbulent flow or we can better termed as wastage of energy since the turbulent flow seems like look at the attachment pl.

The net flow is towards ahead but the concentric rings formed in between results in flow of some amount of water backwards

hence the energy get cancelled and we get minimum energy as compared to laminar and streamline flow.
