Why rivers are know as lokmata?

Rivers are called as lokmata because they will help human beings to survive as water very essential for our life and also gives water for irrigation, and for many uses.

- Rivers have been providing natural resources since ancient time. Indus culture has flourished on the bank of river Indus and Ravi.

- Rivers are the source of drinking water, domestic use, irrigation, electricity, water ways etc. Beside this, man was dependent on river to develop industries of clay utensils , plastering and building house.

Hence river had flourished the the life of human beings so it is known as lok mata.
