Why Robertford prefer gold foil on the place of any other metal for atom experiment ?

Because the thinner the sheet the lesser the chances that the alpha particles gets absorbed in the sheet and more accurate is the result. The sheet was just around 0.0004 cms thick. Such thickness of gold would have around 1000 atoms. As the number of atoms increases, alpha particles may have abrupt deviation.
