why ruminants cannot chew food properly at the time they take it in?

Cattle are known as ruminants. Ruminants grab the food that they get as fast as they can and store it in a separate part of the stomach called rumen and when they are done with grabbing the food they slowly start chewing their food , they chew it for a very log time as they consume a lot of fibre containing cellulose which has to be digested properly..
