Saudi Arabia is not a democratic country but a theocratic monarchy because :
1. The Kingship in Saudi Arabia is hereditary and therefore no elections are held and people do not have right to elect or to be elected.
2. Islamic law or Shariat is followed in civil as well as in criminal matters. Blasphemous laws are strict.
3. Freedom of Speech and expression is curbed. No one is allowed to speak against the Kingdom.
4. If the kingdom rules against the wishes of people, the people don't have the power to overthrow the same.
