The Shahaji inherited jagirs of Super under Ahmednagar sultanate.

He received the Bangalore jagirs in 1638 after the Kempe Gowda territories.

Shahaji has two sons Shivaji and sambhaji.

The elder son Sambhaji was killed by the Afzal Khan.

Shahaji Maharaj was king of the Pune, and Bangalore under his control.
