why should acids not be stored in metal containers

Because acids react with metal to form a salt and hydrogen gas..

Acid cannot be stored in metal containers as they will react with the metal, forming metal salt and liberating hydrogen gas.containers made of glass are ideal for storage of acid due to the chemical .
