why should biodegradable and non biodegradable wastes be discarded in two seperates dustbins

when the 2 wastes mix together and are thrown into a landfill the non biodegradable waste mix with the soil they pollute the soil and it causes soil pollution.

it is done so because when both biodegradable and non biodegradable waste is thrown differently the biodegradable waste can be buried in the soil to improve the soil fertility and if it mixed the non biodegradable waste do not decay and it dirts up the soil
