Curd and sour substances contains acids which when react with a metal forms salts and water.. The salt so formed contaminates the food item making it unfit for consumption....

Answer:
It's because they are acidic substances, When acidic substances come in contact with metal they can easily corrode it, the corrosion can release toxic materials into it making it unfit for consumption.
