Why should curd and sour substances not be kept in brass and copper vessels?

Curd & sour substances should not be kept in brass & copper becoz the sour substances & cord contains acids in them if they are kept in metallic vessels of brass & copper they may react with them to release hydrogen gas & also corrodes the vessel

curd and sour substances are acidic in nature..we know that acid attack most of the metal..hence ,if acidic substance are kept in copper or brass vessel ,they react to form toxic substanc e and make the food stuff unfit for consumption
