The holes in the barrel of the pen are to equalize pressure inside the pen with that of the pressure outside the pen. These holes or vents in the barrel of the pen help to prevent ink leakage. About 90 percent of the pens have holes to prevent leakage. The pens which don't have hole contain sealed ink systems and are pressurized.

✨ HEY MATE ✨
➡️So that the pen doesn't get wasted in the form by the exhaustion of its ink !
➡️It is also because of the reading that the ink can be in contact with air so that it doesn't get exploded by forcing the inner surface of the ball pen.
