Hii!!

Because it harms the person you take from, and it harms you.

Think of a person’s money and possessions as extensions of their physical being. It actually harms them in a similar (though lesser) way as if you were to take a finger or toe. If you steal a life’s savings, it’s a bit like taking an internal organ. It can literally be that hard to survive. By stealing from someone, you reduce their survival.

Optimum living requires balanced exchange between income and outgo, for the health of the person. If you eat but become constipated, it’s bad for you, to the point it could even kill you if not remedied. If you drink but don’t urinate (kidney failure or whatever), then that fluid is accumulating between the tissues of your body and can stop your heart. If you work hard and are never paid, you have put out considerable energy, and now need to eat, sleep, have shelter, etc. but may not be able to. Conversely, if you get paid for never doing anything, this triggers feelings of guilt, worthlessness, dishonesty and other mental/emotional problems that, even if you try to suppress them, will harm you mentally and eventually physically. Your life will turn sour. This is not terribly mystical - it’s just how life really works. Wanna get? You gotta give.
