A clinical thermometer cannot be used to measure high temperatures because it has been designed to measure only human body temperature which varies over a short range. If a clinical thermometer is used to measure high temperatures, it will get damaged.the range of a laboratory thermometer is high generally from –10°C to 110°C, while as normal body temperature in humans is only 37°C.
