We should not waste paper because it is made up of plants and for manufacturing new paper a fresh plant would be taken down which is not good for the present environmental scenario.

Explanation:

  • The science of converting plants and grasses as paper was invented in ancient Egypt where the grass named papyrus was used to make paper.
  • Since, then papermaking industry has revolutionized but it took a cost on environment of earth because excessive cutting of trees has resulted in increased carbon in environment.
  • Trees hold massive amounts of carbon in their biomass hence controlling the number of carbon emissions in the atmosphere.
  • But, if we are simply wasting paper then more trees will be cut down for making new paper which in turn will increase carbon content in the atmosphere and ultimately temperature and environment of earth will be affected.
  • Hence we should minimize our use of paper and should avoid wasting paper at all costs and should recycle it.
