Silk is called queen of thread because it has beautiful appearance due to lustre and the garment made out of it looks so elegant as compare to others kinds of fibre. That's why it is called queen of fibre.
And as an Assamese I would say it's precious fibre and need labour for the process of obtaining it from cocoons of silk " seri -culture ".
