Gold is reactive, just not very reactive relative to other metals. It sits very low in the reactivity series with platinum and other 'noble metals'. ... Gold has a single electron in its most outer 6s orbital. This would usually indicate high reactivity as it would be readily 'lost' or exchanged



silver(e.g) is a good conductor of electricity because of its sea of delocalised electrons between the layers of metal ions. However it is not highly reactive because you would need a lot of energy to break the metallic bonds within each of those layers.
