The sky is blue in colour because the space is full of darkness and the earth has an atmosphere which contains many gases and when sunlight falls on the earth the people standing on the ground will see that the sky is blue but the actual colour of the sky is black with no light present.

Anonymous: buy why it looks blue?
AkshithaZayn: I think black mixes with gases and light, it became blue.
AkshithaZayn: well, it's only a guess
AkshithaZayn: I also want to know abt it
Anonymous: achha
WIZARD007: Yes when the light mixes with atmospheric gases the sky appears to be blue

Hey there!!

Thank you \ \: \: for \: your \: question \: -

The colour of sky is really amazing thing but did u know why it is so? in this post we shall discuss about this phenomenon ,
but it is necessary for us to know the reason behind this phenomenon ? what ? I mean it is happened ? we know everything has special type of factor or reason
As it is colour of sky is due to the

scattering \: of \: light \: -
the reflection of light from in object in all direction is called scattering of light the colour of the scattered light depends on the size of scattering particle and Wave length of the light very fine particles scatter mainly blue light while particle of a larger size is scatter light of longer wavelength (red light) If the size of the scattering particles is large enough then the scattered light may even appear white

Note \: \: down \: the \: following \: thing \: to \: understand \: this \: concept \: easily

The \: blue \: light \: presents \: in \: sunlight \: \: is \: scattared \: \: 10 \: times \: more \: than \: red \: light \:

scattering \: \infty \: {d}^{6} (where \: d \: = \: diameter \: of \: the \: particle)

scattering \: \: \infty \: \frac{1}{ { \: wavelength}^{4} }
we have totally understood these above terms , not it is easy for us to know why the sky is blue

Why \: \: sky \: is \: blue \: -
During the day time time sky appears blue this is because the size of the particles in the atmosphere in smaller than the wavelength of visible light so they are more effective n scattering the light of light of shorter wavelength ( blue end of spectrum) when sunlight passes through the atmosphere the fine particles scatter the blue colour more strongly than red , this scattered blue light enter in our eye hence the sky is blue

Hope this helps u!!
