If the Earth had no atmosphere then the sky would have looked dark. The original colour of the sky(or space) is black.Just the atmosphere of the Earth gives the colour white, blue and dark blue.

In the absence of an atmosphere, there will be no air particles through which light from the Sun can scatter. We are able to see the blue color of the sky due to scattering of light.
But if there would be no atmosphere, the light would pass straight without scattering. The sky would look just like space. In space, there is blackness all around with stars appearing white in the black background. Same thing will happen on Earth. There will be blackness all around, with Sun looking bright and white against the black background.
