why sodium hydroxide do not react with sodium carbonate

because they both are base not the acids acid reacts with base and base reacts with acids base do not react with base

The salt sodium bicarbonate is a acidic salt formed by the dibasic acid carbonic acid. Sodium hydroxide is basic in nature. Therefore, the solution of the two is incompatible in nature.
