why solid carbon dioxide is called as dry ice?

Solid Carbondioxide(CO2) is known as DRY ICE.

Bcoz.....The Solid cabrondioxide directly changes into gas when the pressure is decreased to 1 atmosphere. This is the reason for, why Solid CO2 is called as DRY ICE....

Hey Friend !!!!
Sodium carbon dioxide is called as dry ice because it looks like ice when solidified .....
In other words .....
It looks like ice and because when it “melts”
(it actually sublimes) it goes from solid straight to gas, no liquid, hence dry ice.
