the melting and boiling points of solid materials are a function of the elements alloys and other compounds that formed them some like mercury have melting points that are below room temperature some are at or near room temperature like waxes and some are a book and some why we above room temperature it all depends on their composition and structure in chemistry there is nothing special about room temperature.
