why solids have fixed shapes but liquid does not have fixed shape

Solids have fixed shape due to strong intermolecular force of attraction between them where as in the case of liquids they have less intermolecular force of attraction and hence it doesn't have fixed shape and it can flow and can take the shape of the container .
