Why solution become good conductor when sodium is added in liqhid nh3

Sodium is soluble in liquid ammonia. A piece of sodium metal dissolves in liquid ammonia giving a blue solution of Na+ ions and solvated electrons.
The free electrons in the solution make it an excellent electrical conductor.
