why some leaves have different colour instead of green

That's because pigments absorbsome wavelengths of light and reflect others. A yellow pigment is one that absorbs all of the wavelengths of light except yellow.

green leaves have different colours because the chlorophyll breaks down and the green colour disappears, and the yellow or orange colours become visible and give the leaves  the new colour . At the same time other chemical changes may occur, which form additional colours through the development of red anthocyanin pigments
