Some seeds float in water due to a wide number of reasons, they may be lighter in density than the density of water, there might be insects or microbes that have eaten the inner surface of the seeds thus making them hollow, the seeds may have a waxy coating around them that makes them float in the water

Answer:
An object floats when the weight force on the object is balanced by the upward push of the water on the object. The upwards push of the water increases with the volume of the object that is under water; it is not affected by the depth of the water or the amount of water.
