when the light ray enters from rare to denser medium ee observe a change in its speed and that too negative change
this happens due to change in the refractive index of the second medium with respect to the first medium
when refractive index increases the speed of light decreases and when refractive index decreases the speed of light increases
this concept clears that the denser medium has more or you can say a greater refractive index so thats why the speed of light decreases while entering it.
Thanks I hope it helps you in the best way it can and if it does so than please mark it as brainliest and if you think that I can help you in studies than please please follow me.

The reflectivity of the medium obstructs the full passage of the light, thus slowing it down.
