The spleen is an organ found in virtually all vertebrates. Similar in structure to a large lymph node, it acts primarily as a blood filter. The word spleen comes from Ancient Greek σπλήν (splḗn). Thespleen plays important roles in regard to red blood cells (erythrocytes) and the immune system. Hope it helps. Thank u

⭕️Spleen is called as the blood bank because it holds the reserve of blood in case of hemorrhagic shock.

⭕️Blood banks also reserve the blood that can be used in case of emergency.

⭕️ Similar to that done by the blood banks.

⭕️It removes old red blood cells and holds a reserve of blood!!!!!!!!
