sponve is considered as a solid because it ha sholes or pores which are fille with air

so when we compress it ,it compresses easily but on the other hand when we release it , it acquires its original shape .

so sponge is considered as a solid.

Sponge is considered to be solid even if it changes its shape when compressed because it has tiny holes on its surface that allows the air to expell. It only changes it shape when external force is applied. That's why, it is considered solid.
